Who We Are: The Backbone of Your Project’s Success

Northern Civil Solutions was built because we saw communities across Far North Queensland that deserved the same level of project management, advocacy and professional support as larger regional centres but often didn't have access to it.

In 2019, Michael and Tess Geoghegan started Northern Civil Solutions with a simple belief: every community deserves someone who genuinely cares about the outcome of their projects.

Being a director has never meant sitting behind a desk.

It means walking project sites, meeting with the operational team, listening to community members, working alongside contractors and standing beside our clients from concept through to completion.

We're not interested in growing for the sake of growth. We're interested in building a team of good people who genuinely care about delivering projects that leave communities stronger than when we arrived.

Far North Queensland isn't just where we work, it's home. It's where we grew up, where we're raising our own family, and where our friends, family and clients live. That personal connection means every project matters.

The roads we help upgrade, the community facilities we help deliver and the infrastructure we manage are not just projects on a spreadsheet, they're places our own communities use every day.

That's what drives us.

Behind every successful project is a team that genuinely cares.
Our people bring together practical experience, local knowledge and a shared commitment to delivering quality outcomes for our clients and the communities we work with.

MEET THE TEAM THAT MAKES IT HAPPEN:

  • Michael Geoghegan

    DIRECTOR

Michael has dedicated his career to partnering with local governments and regional communities across Far North Queensland, delivering complex civil infrastructure while helping councils strengthen the way they plan, procure and deliver projects. His expertise spans civil works, project management, contract administration, superintendent services, business improvement and disaster recovery, allowing him to bridge the gap between engineering outcomes and organisational capability.

With extensive experience leading disaster recovery and resilience programs across Northern Queensland, Michael understands that rebuilding communities requires more than replacing damaged assets. It requires thoughtful planning, strong leadership and a long-term commitment to empowering local governments to respond, recover and grow stronger after every challenge.

For Michael, successful projects are built through strong partnerships, not transactions. By becoming an extension of his clients' teams, maintaining a consistent presence on site and fostering collaborative relationships across every level of a project, he creates an environment where people work together to overcome challenges, protect public investment and deliver infrastructure that provides lasting value to regional communities.

  • Tess Geoghegan

    DIRECTOR

When Northern Civil Solutions was established, Tess saw an opportunity to help create something different.

Leading the business operations while supporting project delivery, Tess ensures every part of the organisation reflects the standards and values Northern Civil Solutions was founded on. She believes the best projects are built on trust, clear communication and a team that genuinely cares about the outcome, not just the contract.

For Tess, success isn't measured by completed milestones or financial results. It's measured by the relationships built, the confidence clients place in the team, and the positive legacy every project leaves behind. Her passion for people, purpose and community continues to shape a business where clients know they'll be listened to, supported and represented with integrity from beginning to end.

  • Lemaki

    SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Lemaki brings more than two decades of experience delivering complex infrastructure projects across local government, state government and the private sector. His background spans transport infrastructure, civil construction, asset management, marine infrastructure and regional service delivery, providing him with a broad perspective on successfully delivering projects in diverse and often challenging environments.

Lemaki combines technical expertise with practical leadership. He has successfully managed multidisciplinary capital works programs, civil infrastructure, transport networks and community facilities, guiding projects from planning and procurement through to construction and completion.

Known for his methodical approach and exceptional attention to detail, Lemaki has a natural ability to identify risks, resolve complex issues early and maintain a strong focus on quality throughout every stage of project delivery. His calm, solutions focused leadership provides confidence to clients, contractors and project teams alike, ensuring projects remain well managed, accountable and aligned with their intended outcomes.

  • Jye

    PROJECT MANAGER

Jye is where planning meets delivery. With a trade background in roofing, he brings real-world construction experience that gives him a practical understanding of how projects are built, not just how they're designed.

As a Project Manager, Jye spends as much time on site as he does behind a desk. From coordinating contractors and managing quality to solving problems in the field and driving project delivery, he's the link between planning and construction. His ability to communicate with crews, understand site challenges and keep projects moving makes him a valuable asset to both our team and our clients.

Grounded, reliable and always willing to get involved, Jye represents the hands-on approach Northern Civil Solutions is known for.

  • Jeremy

    PROJECT MANAGER

Originally from New Zealand, Jeremy brings extensive experience in asset management and water infrastructure, providing a strong technical foundation that continues to influence the way he delivers projects today. His ability to understand the full lifecycle of infrastructure enables him to make informed decisions that balance construction, long-term performance and community value.

Today, Jeremy oversees a diverse portfolio of community infrastructure and building projects, guiding clients through every stage of project delivery with a practical, solutions-focused approach. Whether managing new construction, facility upgrades or civil infrastructure, he is committed to delivering projects that leave a lasting benefit for the communities they serve.

What truly sets Jeremy apart is his ability to build genuine relationships. He believes successful projects are built on trust, collaboration and open communication, earning the confidence of clients, contractors and community members alike. His approachable nature, combined with his technical expertise, allows him to bring people together and create positive outcomes both on site and throughout the life of a project.

  • Cherie

    ACCOUNTS OFFICER

Every successful project relies on the people working behind the scenes, and Cherie plays an important role in keeping Northern Civil Solutions operating smoothly. As Accounts Officer, she manages client invoicing and financial administration, ensuring projects remain organised, accurate and supported from both an operational and financial perspective.

With more than two decades of experience across accounts, executive administration and client services, Cherie brings exceptional organisation, attention to detail and reliability to everything she does. Her calm, approachable nature and commitment to accuracy provide confidence for both our team and our clients, ensuring the day-to-day financial management of projects is handled with professionalism and care.
